How to Clean a Glass Filter Tip?
After multiple uses, it is normal for your glass filter tip to begin getting dirty. A dirty filter tip will not work as effectively and will reduce the flavor of whatever you are smoking. Instead of replacing it, cleaning it is a faster and better solution to continue enjoying your tip longer.
Here we bring three ways to effectively clean your glass filter tip and leave it like new!
1.Hot Water - Little to Mild Dirty Glass Tips
Place your Filter Tip in a small glass cup or a microwave-safe container
Place the glass cup or microwave-safe container in the microwave
Microwave for approximately 1-2 minutes or until water boils
Take filter from the water, and with a Qtip remove all excesses of resin until the filter is clear
Blow on both sides to remove excess water trapped inside the filter
2. Hot Water + Isopropyl Alcohol - Mild to High Dirty Glass Tips
Apply first the hot water method to get rid of the majority of the resin
Take from the boiling water and soak in 99% isopropyl alcohol for 30min
After 30min with a Qtip remove all excesses of resin until the filter is clear
Rinse in hot water
Blow on both sides to remove excess water trapped inside the filter
3. Ziplock Bag - High Dirty Glass Tips
Place your glass filter tip on a ziplock bag
Mix 3 spoons of salt and ½ cup rubbing alcohol into the ziplock bag
Shake until all resin is dislodged
Take from the bag and rinse in hot water
With a Qtip remove all excesses of resin until the filter is clear
Blow on both sides to remove excess water trapped inside the filter
If any of these methods didn’t work separately try repeating or alternating between methods. If still, your filter tip remains too dirty it might be too late to salvage.
