Cream Cheese, Prosciutto & Hot Honey Drizzled Jalapeños 🌶️💨✨
Ingredients:
1 Block of cream cheese
1 packaged container of diced prosciutto
4-6 Fresh picked jalapeños
Olive Oil
Honey
Chili flakes
Pepper
Red Chili Powder
Cinnamon (optional)
1 Sandwich bag (for piping)
Instructions:
Start with your 4-6 jalapeños by slicing them in halves and gutting them with a spoon or butter knife. Be sure to try to keep a “boat shape” as much as possible so that there is plenty of room when it is time to pipe your jalapeños.
Once they have been gutted, allow them some time in the oven while the remaining of your dish is prepared. I usually set the oven to 300 degrees for a total of 10-15 mins for a slight crisp on the peppers however they can stay in even longer depending on how well you like your jalapeños. Don’t forget to drizzled a small amount of olive oil on both the fronts and backs of each!
While those are popped in the oven, crisp your prosciutto in a small skillet on low heat for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Be sure to fry excess natural grease when finished on paper towel. [Cinnamon = Smoky/caramelized prosciutto]
Honey: Mix 1-1/2 cup of honey, 1-2 tbsp of Chili Flakes, “Dash or two” of Red Chili Powder in a small skillet on MED heat. You want to allow the spices to penetrate the honey due to the heat. The longer the penetration is set for, the spicier the honey will become. Take small taste tests over short periods of time until your honey is at YOUR level of spicy then reduce heat to very low for 3-5 minutes before completely turning it off. Your honey may need to be rewarmed prior to drizzling.
Cream Cheese: Take a small sandwich bag and fill it in one corner so that you can use this to pipe your peppers after snipping at the corner of the bag.
Your jalapeños should be ready to pop off of the oven now! Pipe those baby with your cream cheese, grab small handfuls of your prosciutto and top your cream cheese to the every ends of each pepper. Lastly, after your honey has been reheated (30 secs), drizzle small amounts over the entirety of your dish and WAH-LAAAH! 🪄🍽️
