While some celebs have built an image off their cannabis consumption, like Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa, more and more we’re seeing celebrities you wouldn’t suspect as 420-friendly come out as cannabis consumers.

We’ve compiled a list of the A-Listers that would form the ultimate smoke circle:

 

Drew Barrymore

Actress-turned-Talk Show Host Drew Barrymore admitted to her regular use of cannabis,

“I’ve smoked marijuana most of my adult life.”

Perhaps we can look forward to segments centered around medical cannabis on The Drew Barrymore Show.

 

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence took getting into character very seriously by actually getting high while portraying a stressed stoner in Don't Look Up on Netflix. 

"I was a real target. Everyone was f--king with me. … I guess because I was high. Easy to f--k with.”

She said about her colleagues pranking her on set while stoned.

 

Andrew Garfield

Did you know superheroes get high too?

“And we were just incredibly high. We would, like, do the lines to each other.”

Andrew Garfield told GQ that he used to watch the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man with friends while getting baked– on several occasions.

 

Oprah

Oprah was outed as having consumed cannabis by her close friend of over 40 years: broadcast journalist Gayle King. "Oprah has smoked a little marijuana too, I don't mind saying..."  said Gayle King, who met Oprah as a 21-year-old production assistant at a Baltimore TV station. 

 

Woody Harrelson

"It's about personal freedom. We should have the right in this country to do what we want, if we don't hurt anybody..."

A surprising addition to this list is Woody Harrelson, who told the press in 2017 that he had quit smoking weed after 30 years. But after some convincing from Willie Nelson, Woody started to consume again.  

"It's about personal freedom. We should have the right in this country to do what we want, if we don't hurt anybody..." said Harrelson, who opened a cannabis dispensary called The Woods in West Hollywood last month.

 

Elizabeth Olsen

In her hilarious lie detector test interview with Vanity Fair, WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen admits that she is "an aspiring stoner, I'm trying". She goes on to admit that she only recently started partaking again for the first time in 10 years, taking 1-2 hits before bedtime.

 

Charlize Theron

"I really appreciated marijuana way more than alcohol or anything else..."

Actress Charlize Theron admitted to being a “wake and baker” for most of her life, "I really appreciated marijuana way more than alcohol or anything else," Theron said in an interview with E! News. While her cannabis consumption is significantly less than years prior, she now seeks out canna products that help with insomnia for herself and her mother.

 

Zoë Kravitz

As if we needed another reason why Zoë Kravitz is cooler than us, here’s her version of fun: "I like to pass the time with baths, wine, watching films, cooking, smoking weed and listening to music,” Kravitz said. So next time someone asks you which celebrity you’d want to hang out with, keep this Self-Care Queen in mind!

 

Morgan Freeman

“Marijuana prohibition is just the stupidest law possible… Just legalize it and tax it like we do liquor”

In an interview with Daily Beast, actor Morgan Freeman admitted to consuming medical marijuana to help with his Fibromyalgia. Most of Freeman’s public mentions of cannabis are regarding its legality and the social injustice of prohibition: “Marijuana prohibition is just the stupidest law possible… Just legalize it and tax it like we do liquor” said Freeman.

 

Megan Fox

Megan Fox, who recently made headlines for her Ayahuasca trip with her partner Machine Gun Kelly, is also open about her use of cannabis and the stigma surrounding it:

"I can’t tell you how much bullshit I’ve been through because I will openly say that I smoke weed. People look at it like it’s this crazy, hippie, fucked-up thing to do. And it’s not" 

 

Rihanna

Although she has likely slowed her roll since welcoming her newborn son with ASAP Rocky, we had to shout out the Kush Queen herself Rihanna. Quoting Drake’s song “Up All Night”, Rihanna tweeted:

“Kush rolled, glass full. I prefer the better things!”

 

Jennifer Anniston

Popular actress from the 1990's sitcom Friends, Jennifer Anniston, has been very upfront about her cannabis use. 

"I enjoy smoking and I see no harm in it" 

Tupac

Before his untimely death at just 25 years old in 1996, rap and hip-hop legend Tupac was open with his use of cannabis. In response to an increase in gang-related violence, Tupac said,

“Stop killing each other man. Let’s just smoke a blunt.”

 

Lady Gaga

Superstar Lady Gaga revealed that cannabis is a crucial component to her creative process,

“As an artist, there’s a sweet jump-starting quality for me. So if ever I need some clarity, I smoke a joint.”

Always one to give a performance, Lady Gaga smoked weed during her concert in Amsterdam and has admitted to smoking weed in front of Beyoncé.

 

Barack Obama

In his now-famous response to being questioned about former president Bill Clinton’s confession that he smoked weed but “never inhaled”, then-President Barack Obama quipped

“When I was a kid I inhaled frequently. That was the point.”

Martha Stewart

It’s the post-prison rebrand that no one expected but everyone loves, Martha Stewart shed her perfect housewife persona in favor of her edgier side, even saying

“Of course I know how to roll a joint.”
